Chancellor Fariña Releases Redesigned School Quality Reports, Announces More Students Enrolling in College
November 16, 2015
On November 10, 2015, New York Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina released the 2014-15 School Quality Snapshots and School Quality Guides. The Snapshot and Guide were redesigned to offer practitioners and families a clear, coherent analysis of their school. The Snapshot offers a picture of the school’s current quality, while the Guide delivers information that schools can use in their planning efforts to improve. These reports are, for the first time, aligned to the Framework for Great Schools.
On this occasion, Carnegie President Anthony S. Bryk said “New York City’s adoption of the Framework for Great Schools builds on over 20 years of academic research. The new School Quality Reports are going to show parents and educators how their schools are doing on the measures that really matter, and offer clear priorities for each school on how to better serve our students and improve our schools.”
