In her keynote at the 2018 Carnegie Summit, Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Sonja Brookins Santelises noted that improvement science provides opportunities to move equity from a theoretical discussion to “a moment for action.” But to successfully advance improvement, efforts should be grounded in the knowledge that the work is done “with communities, not to communities.”
