Improving Together: Elevating Voices of Educators in The Learning Professional

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation launched the Networks for School Improvement (NSI) portfolio in 2018 to improve outcomes for Black and Latino students and students experiencing poverty by supporting intermediaries to build networks that implement structures and routines that empower practitioners to test evidence-based practices in their classrooms and schools and then use actionable data to understand whether and how these changes work for students. The foundation partnered with Learning Forward on the April 2023 issue of The Learning Professional to elevate the voices of educators from across these networks as they describe what they have learned from their work. In this session, you will hear directly from the authors of these pieces, which address topics such as innovative approaches to PDSA cycles, embedding equity centered principles, and the importance of elevating teacher leadership and student voice. You will also have an opportunity to “go deep” on the article of your choice in a roundtable Q&A.
