The new mission of the Carnegie Foundation is captured in its logo—a stylized tree of knowledge. The roots represent our commitment to developing networks of ideas, expertise and action aimed at improving teaching and learning and strengthening institutions in which this occurs. The branches and leaves are the fruits of this activity—a growing expanse of robust, practical improvements achieving increasing scale over time. Embedded in the tree and lending it shape are the letters CF. It signifies the Foundation as an integrative institution forming networks enlivening the discipline of improvement science. Taken as a whole, the logo projects our core belief that much more can be accomplished together than even the best of us can accomplish alone.
Learning together, improving together. This is the Carnegie Foundation.
